Speaking of local, let’s talk a little more about things to do in Margaret River. If you’re considering a visit, you may be surprised to learn just how much there is packed into this lovely little region. Other than the natural beauty of this area, wine lovers and foodies will also find a lot to enjoy here. There are more than 150 producers of wine in this area, with the climate making it perfect for grape growing conditions. If you’re keen to sample a glass or two, head over to one of the many estates and vineyards such as Happs Winery, Churchview and Clairault Streicker (among many others!) Alternatively, you could go on a winery tour that is planned for you by a local tour operator. This will also mean you don’t have to worry about driving yourself back!
If you’re not a lover of wine, there are lots of other culinary delights for you to explore. Margaret River is home to hundreds of great restaurants with incredible chefs making great use of all the local fresh produce available to them. The quality of the food at most dining establishments is impressive, whether it’s a burger joint or an upmarket seafood restaurant. There’s something for every budget here. You’ll find the majority of the restaurants along the bustling Bussell Highway. Many of the eateries will recommend a wine pairing from the many local wineries to complement your food choice.
